The GW Libraries and Academic Innovation (LAI) National Churchill Leadership Center will feature Morris Industries Chairman & Founder and Rubicon Founder & CEO Nate Morris in the next installment of its illustrious Churchill Leadership Series, scheduled for October 1. As part of this presentation, National Churchill Leadership Center Program Director Justin Reash will interview GWmonumental alumnus Nate Morris on topics around the themes of leadership and innovation. George Washington's Monumental Alumni are graduates who have made an impact on the world through their work and service and who embody the ideals of leadership for which the University stands. Morris, the youngest ever inductee to the Kentucky Entrepreneur Hall of Fame and the first Kentuckian to be named to Fortune Magazine's 40 Under 40, is a ninth-generation Kentuckian and product of public schools. He was born in Lexington and raised in a union household by a single mother. Morris graduated from George Washington University as a Scottish Rite Scholar and attended Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. Morris is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was named a Fulbright Specialist Scholar.
“It is an honor to be a part of this inspiring program,” said Morris. “As a George Washington graduate, I learned well the lessons of leadership taught here, and represented by the University’s namesake. It is my pleasure to come back and share some of those lessons, and the lessons I have learned since with the George Washington community at the center named for another great leader, Winston Churchill.”
The previous installment of the Churchill Leadership Series featured former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Paul Ryan, the youngest speaker in nearly 150 years. The National Churchill Leadership Center (NCLC) opened its doors on the first floor of GW's Estelle and Melvin Gelman Library in 2016.
